While still in college studying civil engineering and environmental studies, Lisa Alexander was recruited by James K. Howell P.E., LLC, a private Engineering firm in New Jersey specializing in commercial and residential building and renovations. Her work there was springboard for later involvement in the real estate field with a focus on environmental and sustainable buildings and programs.
Lisa achieved her LEED AP, (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional) became a Certified EcoBroker and NAR Green Professional specializing in new construction, existing building renovations, operation and management, and corporate sustainability programs. She is an international authority on Green Building and Sustainable Living and a sought-after expert on the subject appearing on many major TV networks, radio, and print media, including appearances on MSNBC’s GREEN IS UNIVERSAL week as an expert covering the U.S. Green Building Council’s Green Build Expo & Conference. As a LEED AP and the Director of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) programs at Integrated Green, LLC, Lisa was exposed to international LEED Projects in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi and Dubai Maritime City, U.A.E., as well as domestic LEED projects such as the Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, CT.
Through this work, Lisa became the original Founder/CEO of Green Life, Inc.; a Green Consulting Firm committed to educating the public and corporations on how to build healthier, more sustainable lives and buildings for ourselves and future generations. Through Green Life, Inc., Lisa designed and implemented strategies for clients to achieve their company’s sustainable mission and improve their ‘Triple Bottom Line.” She worked closely with corporations and community leaders to develop and successfully implement customized and fully functional sustainable environmental and sociably responsible programs to reduce energy, waste, emissions, pollution, water consumption and carbon footprint.
Lisa is also Licensed Realtor® who has won several ‘Excellence in Real Estate’ awards and became the first Certified EcoBroker® in her area of north east PA in 2005. In 2008, Lisa was appointed to the PAR Presidential Advisory Board on Climate Change and the Green Biz Intelligence Panel. She also sits on many College and University Sustainability Advisory and Directorial Boards. She is a green leader in her community and a member of USGBC, NAR, PAR, SAG, AFTRA, NRDC, WWF, NWF, Audubon Society, UCS, PETA, Defenders of Wildlife, ASPCA, HSUS, Greenpeace, Sierra Club, NPCA, Natures Conservancy and many more.
