LISA ALEXANDER
CERTIFIED GREEN LIFE STYLE EXPERT
While still in college, Lisa was recruited by a private Engineering firm specializing in Home Renovations. Although she loved her job, she soon augmented that with a certified teaching degree. While working on an addition to a home owned by a commercial TV producer, Lisa was "discovered" and spent the next ten+ years in New York City having a very successful print and TV career both in front of and behind the camera. By her early 30's, Ms. Alexander had distinguished herself as an expert on home renovation and was tapped to combine all of her passions and produced, wrote and hosted her own television home improvement show, "ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT". One of the first home improvement shows where Lisa would teach people hands-on skills by doing the work herself. The show aired in several large Northeastern markets in 2000. When her father suddenly died in 2001, Ms. Alexander decided to move back to her home state of Pennsylvania to care for her ailing mother. From there she continued her career as a building consultant and writer and became a licensed realtor and Certified EcoBroker. When she and her husband tried to plan for a family, however, she learned that she suffered from debilitating condition that not only prevented her from conceiving, but also threaten her life. While Ms. Alexander has always been a devoted environmentalist, through extensive research on her condition and potential treatments, she started learning about the hormones, pesticides, and other chemicals in our food and environment that can negatively affect our health. As a building consultant, she started looking into the building materials that are used in homes and the dangerous chemicals with which we as a society are surrounding ourselves. After two years of learning to "green" her life through eating and cooking organic recipes and changing the building materials she used to build and renovate homes, Ms. Alexander was able to completely and naturally ride herself of her illness and regain her energy and vitality. Today, she sees it as her obligation to share her knowledge and experience with the public and businesses through her extensive articles, lectures, corporate speaking engagements and TV appearances, and to help people and businesses find easy and practical ways to save money, energy and the environment while improving and preserving our health and the health of our planet for future generations.
Ms. Alexander hopes to have a book out next year the details and chronicles her journey to the green lifestyle that saved her health and preserved her life, hoping it will inspire and help others to do the same.
